The Corsican Clementine experience is about more than just taste; it's an immersion into terroir, culture, and history. Bursting with vitamin C and nutritional richness, these fruits offer not only a flavourful snack but also a natural source of immune-boosting goodness.
The Corsican clementine is mainly a seedless clementine.
It reaches its natural colouring and ripeness on the tree without any colouring activator. This is why its orange-red external colouring is not always uniform and may show up to 1/5th of the surface of the skin as green.
The fruit is generally medium to small in size, with a
diameter of between 46 and 68 mm.
It is nevertheless very juicy, with a minimum content of 42%. Its juice has a tangy taste.
The finest Corsican variety is harvested from the end of October to the beginning of January directly from producers' orchards within a 60 km radius.
The Corsican Clementine undergoes no post-harvest chemical treatment. They are sold with one or two leaves attached to the stalk, covering at least 30% of the fruit. The presence of these leaves, which has long been the distinguishing mark of the Corsican Clementine, means that the fruit does not have to go through a "degreening" chamber and is therefore also an indicator of freshness.
Furthermore, there is no post-harvest or chemical treatment.
The bright green leaves attached to the fruit are guardians of freshness, the delicate leaves are a symbol of purity. Handpicked from the clementine tree, they safeguard the fruit's journey from orchard to table, never touching the ground. Their vivid green hue signifies swift harvesting and delivery, preserving the Corsican Clementine for your enjoyment.
The Corsican Clementine has a distinctive sleek, glossy exterior, with a radiant orange hue adorned by the iconic little green crown - a testament to the natural ripening and colouring processes. No artificial treatments or chilling chambers are used against the Corsican Clementines, ensuring authenticity in every vibrant shade.
Corsican Clementines have a distinctively sweet taste,
a perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness. They are
abundant in Vitamin C (41mg/100g), Vitamin A, Carotene and antioxidants; as well as fibre, essential minerals, and trace elements. Nevertheless, each fruit is remarkably low in calories, with each fruit boasting less than 25kcal.
